Salma Motakef Art

My name is Salma Motakef, and I’m a Toronto-based artist creating vibrant, contemporary work inspired by familiar objects, games, memories, light, and texture. I love taking things we recognize from everyday life and turning them into paintings that feel fresh, personal, and a little unexpected.

With a background in Orthotics and Prosthetics and a degree in language studies, I think both precision and storytelling naturally find their way into my work. My art has been shown in galleries and juried art fairs, and I hope each piece gives the viewer a moment to connect, remember, or simply enjoy something familiar in a new way.
